As a family, we loved our holidays at Villa Astrea!

It was a wonder of every moment to stay in this magical place, beautifully decorated in a style that is at the same time very luxurious, refined, minimalist with exceptional comfort!

At Villa Astrea, everything is luxury, comfortable and voluptuousness : « Calme, Luxe et Volupté » as we say in french.

The rooms are spacious, with plenty of storage space… and the beds are perfect.

All the volumes of the rooms are grandiose, very bright and offer a feeling of fullness and harmony.

The wonderful Nick, manager of the villa accompanied us throughout the stay by advising us good addresses, constantly managing the maintenance of the house,

This was a great experience. Stayed at the villa for a week and the manager Nick was amazing. He was very quick to help out if we had any questions or issues and he was a genuinely nice person. He was also really important in making sure we enjoyed our stay in Zakynthos as a whole and not just the villa. He very kindly took us round the city and took us anywhere we wanted to go on other days. Thanks to his suggestions we were able to find some really nice restaurants with amazing food! We just spent an utterly blissful week at Villa Astrea on Zakynthos in Greece, and I am already longing for my next visit. The villa itself is absolutely stunning. Designed and built by a local architect, I learned, it is by far the most beautiful villa we have ever holidayed at in Greece - possibly anywhere! The feel is minimal and stylish, but still comfortable and chilled. The main living space is super-stylish, while each of the 4 bedrooms are almost identical in size and all have an ensuite (so no arguing over rooms). There's excellent air con throughout and all the bedrooms have sliding doors onto the outdoor area with its infinity pool. Everything in the house is of high spec – from the coffee machine and cooker to the Sonos system, the 3 flatscreen TVs and the excellent wifi. There is a daily maid service if desired, and the location is quite and gloriously peaceful, yet just a 15-minute drive to the airport. A 10-minute walk down the road brings you too a lovely taverna (Elia Meze), where we enjoyed many a delicious meal and drink. Meanwhile our 4 teens were a 5 minute drive from the local bars, and just 15 minutes drive from Laganas, the clubbing hotspot on the island, from which they staggered home (well, taxied home) in the early hours of the morning, having had a blast. Best of all, Nick – the concierge at Villa Astrea – is wonderful. He's a really nice guy, incredibly helpful and full of useful restaurant tips (we loved Nobelos – amazing food at a gorgeous seafront location in the north of the island), and helpful ideas (he sorted out a boat trip around the famously beautiful swimming caves on the island for us, which was a big hit with teens and adults alike). Nick kept us topped up with water and beer, he lives next-door and so was ready to nip over if needed and he is truly lovely, friendly and super-helpful. We were only the second visitors to stay at Villa Astrea – it is brand new (hence the low number of reviews so far). We will definitely be back. This is a 10 out of 10 rental.

This is a stunning 5-star luxury modernist designer villa, if I could have given it six stars I would. Astrea villa has cutting-edge modern design with an amazing eye for detail. The finishes on the whole villa have been done to perfection. My family and friends spent a week there and every day felt like being on holiday on the set of a high-end fashion shoot (social media influencers will love it). Seriously, this villa would not look out of place on the pages of Elle Decoration, or Wallpaper.
Clean lines outside and in with a red ochre exterior, stripped back unfinished plaster interior and matte marble floors throughout. There is a stunning infinity pool and a spectacular view of the mountains to the north-west and the bay to the south.
The pool is beautifully tiled and has steps down and a shallow area for kids and sun-bathing. It is the perfect temperature for cooling you down on the hot days, and it certainly does get hot here in summer.
Each room has pool access via sliding double doors and they are all pretty much the same size so there’s no arguments for the best room. With one possible exception, room 2 has a flat screen TV, so get that one if you can. The beds have firm mattresses which are very comfortable even for those with bad backs. The storage is more than adequate and like everything else has been done with exquisite taste, and there are electronically controlled floor to ceiling black out blinds for those who like a lie in.
The bathrooms are well designed with wet rooms with rain-maker showers and they have wonderful complimentary shower gel, shampoo and hair masks.
Everything has been done to the highest level, the towels are by Missoni, the rugs by Guy Laroche, the toaster and juicer are top of the range, there's a Sonos sound system, the kitchen hob is an induction heater and the pots and pans wouldn’t look out of place in a Park Lane hotel. The glassware, crockery and cutlery were all high-end, every single element of this venue had been perfected curated.
The sun-loungers are well designed and comfortable, as are the sun-shades. The kitchen table is made from Corian and the dining chairs are comfortable and stylish (no doubt by a famous designer but I don’t know who).
The air-conditioning is all remote control and creates a cool refuge from the midday heat. There is a shady area by the pool and the view is spectacular and a great place to watch the stunning sunsets over the mountains in the distance.
The light system is so high tech it may have been designed by NASA, and it creates perfect moods for dining and entertaining around the pool.
There is a cleaner every day and water, beer and Nespresso pods were all laid on for free.
The host, Nick, is amazing. He took care of our every need, he was on constant call by mobile, via WA or phone. He booked our boat trip, gave excellent advice on restaurants and solved any problems that we had.
All told it was an amazing week and we will be back next year.
